Atheistic Side of  Sanatan Dharma

We all know Sanatan Dharma in which there is Supreme God and we need to love him and serve him. But today I am going to tell you about atheistic vedic dharma.

Actually Sanatan Dharma is split between 6 schools of thought which  are :-

1)Nyaya

2)Vaishaieka

3)Yoga

4)Samkhya

5)Purva mimisaa

6)Vedanta

So some of these give more importance to God and some do not give more importance to God. It is not that the other philosophies reject God but instead they just do not give importance to God and don’t say to worship God .Instesad these philosophies give importance to spiritual knowledge and  knowledge of self or Atman .They believe that Atman is small parts of Brahman or Ultimate reality.

You can see Brahman as Nirakara(formless ) form Of God. But in these philosophies again they don’t worship Brahman or love him cuz Brahman is away from all these things .They want to merge with Brahman and get freedom from cycle of birth and death also known as Nirvana or Moksha or Kaivalya .

Lets talk a bit about Brahman as I think you might be a bit confused. Brahman is everything . He is ultimate reality beyond dualities of material world. And Atman is a small part of Brahman. Think of Brahman as a ocean and Atman as a droplet. And when Atman identifies itself with body then it is called soul or jivatman. Many translators have translated atman as soul but that’s wrong. And in Bhagavad Gita chapter 2 when Lord Sri Krishna talks of Soul he actually talks about Atman.

So these philosophies tell us that by certain methods we can know actually who we are. And I think my Atheists friends you liked it. But still they are spiritual because they are exploring themselves but you are not .They also don’t disrespect other path of God and Bhakti Yoga but you do. But sadly today I see that people of Sanatan Dharma are fighting that my philosophy is great not yours etc. It makes me really sad when they do such things. Why do they forget what Ramkrishna Paramhamsa said that all paths reach to one supreme Goal. By fighting over such topics we are just destroying Sanatan Dharma. And Adi Shankaracharya who was founder of Advait Vedanta also believed in nirakara or formless Brahman and but at same time also worshiped Krishna. Same Goes goes for Ramkrishna Paramhamsa. And it is not that formless God is great not sakara(with form God). No,Shiv Purana clearly mentions that there is no difference between Nirakara and Sakara. Just two different forms of Same God. Nirakara took Sakara form according to Ramcharitmanas for his devotees. As to focus on nirakara is difficult and the path is full of strict rules and regulations Then common cannot go beyond dualities and back to Godhead. So lord took a form. And Sakara marg is very easy as compared to other paths. In it we just have to love him and nothing else. But modern people do bhakti the wrong way in ritualistic way otherwise the bliss which you get cannot be described in words.

So again back to topic. These atheistic philosophies believe in “Aham Bhramsmi” which means “I am Bramhan (part of it)” and “Tat tvam Asi” which means “ He is Brahman” and they believe that everything and everyone is Brahman. That’s same as everything is God as practised by Bhaktas or devotees .But again there is difference between them as one is surrendering before God and realising him and other is realising self. They are going to reach at same place just path are different. Schrodinger has always been a supporter of Eastern Philosophy, especially that of the concept of Atman and Brahman of Hinduism.  In many of his conferences, he often referred Atman=Brahman.

Many other Quantum physists believed in concept of Brahman and Atman such as:-Werner Heisenberg,  Robert Oppenheimer Niels Bohr, Carl Sagan. If you ask me then I worship God in form because I get feel and bliss in it. But also I love concepts of Atman and Brahman. So, I hope you liked this blog.
