Vedic Philosophy on Ghosts

 Vedic Philosophy on Ghosts

Many Babas, whether Hindu, Muslim, or Christians, are making significant contributions to world by purportedly removing ghosts from people. Many individuals genuinely believe in the possibility of ghost possession. However, such beliefs often stem from lack of education and a failure to study Vedic scriptures. Even educated and self-proclaimed scientific individuals sometimes abandon rationality when it comes to religion, viewing it as distinct from science and rationality. This perspective is flawed because Vedic religion is closely intertwined with science. However, engaging in such activities often leads people to perceive them as another form of unscientific propaganda. Now, let's delve into the Vedic perspective on ghosts, possession, and related phenomena.

Now, Vedic philosophy encompasses various branches, each with differing opinions on ghosts. However, I will provide a generalized view. Some branches of philosophy believe in ghosts, while others do not. Therefore, I will offer an overview that incorporates these diverse perspectives.

So, if in this life you commit suicide or engage in other similar actions, according to Vedic philosophy, you may be reborn as a ghost in your next existence. Many people fear ghosts, but according to Vedic scriptures, there is no need to fear them. In reality, the ghostly existence is filled with suffering. A ghostly body experiences intense thirst without the ability to quench it with water and feels hunger without the capacity to consume food. This state is often described as a torture worse than that of hell. Additionally, ghosts do not possess random individuals. Vedic philosophy emphasizes the concept of karma, which suggests that one faces consequences based on their actions. Therefore, no one can be punished if they have not committed any wrongdoing. It is believed that no entity in the three worlds has the power to induce a ghostly existence upon someone. Furthermore, if such an action were possible, it would contradict the principles of karma and thus be considered unlawful. Additionally, many branches of Vedic philosophy propose that ghosts inhabit their own dimension and are unaware of our realm.
Only a few highly skilled tantriks are capable of controlling ghosts, and they are not commonly found. However, in India, particularly in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, it is claimed that every third person possesses the ability to control ghosts. Nevertheless, true mastery of this skill is rare and typically limited to highly specialized tantriks.

Otherwise, what’s going on in the Indian market is just a nonsense stuff. If you have seen some videos such as of Bageshwar Baba of curing ghost posseesions, the acting of people is really very good. And if you believe very much in Bageshwar Baba then I have exposed him in my this blog. What they are doing is clearly a superstitious . If a ghost will possess your body it is not going to do that all drama as shown by babas. That is the work of animals. Do you know why no more Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Vivekanand Swami Dayanand are not born in India?. It is simply because people do not use their rationality. So whatever wrong is going in the society, they do not condemn it. It is clearly superstition. But no one is opposing it. A very few people oppose it. And those who are opposing it,they are today’s Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Swami Vivekananda.
There are instances of ghosts possessing individuals, but only if one has accumulated bad karma. It is also a rare occurrence for a person with good karma to be affected in this manner. However, even if a ghost does possess your body, no entity in the three worlds has the power to forcibly remove it. Once the karmic debt is settled, the ghost will depart on its own accord. Seeking out babas who claim to have the power to expel ghosts with mantras is futile; such occurrences do not occur. People believe in these practices due to a lack of familiarity with scriptures and a failure to engage their rational faculties. These people don’t use their rational mind.
They say that I am feeling a lot of anger nowadays, so ghost might have possessed my body. But it is not the problem of the ghost, it is your own problem. But we tend to believe in such things because we don’t want to declare ourself as guilty. It is very human nature. You do not want to hurt your ego. So you say that a ghost might have possessed my body and he is doing all this stuff. But this is just your mind which is playing the game here. And even if someone is feared, then the Saints have given a very simple solution and the solution is chant the Holy Name of God and every ghost will run away.

Lastly, Vedic scriptures do not approve of such nonsense. While ghosts may exist, they are not inherently harmful entities. The ongoing propaganda and superstition surrounding ghost possession are considered blasphemous according to Vedic teachings. Therefore, I urge people to read the scriptures and refrain from believing in such unfounded notions. The practices promoted by individuals like Bageshwar Baba are neither spiritual nor scientific; they are purely superstitious. It's important to note that superstition goes against the principles of rationality and is, in fact, unconstitutional.
