Amogh Lila Prabhu's Pseudoscience Exposed
Amogh Lila Prabhu's Pseudoscience Exposed
Welcome Back
to Our Blog!
Today, we
dive into exposing the pseudoscience and misinformation spread by the famous
ISKCON leader, Amogh Lila Prabhu. Let me be clear: we are solely addressing the
pseudoscientific claims made by him. His personal beliefs or philosophy are not
questioned. That’s a topic for another blog. For now, let’s stick to the facts.
Before
diving in, I urge you to read this blog with an open mind, free from bias or
preconceived notions rooted in your beliefs. And if you haven’t already, check
out our other exposes, such as Satya Sai Baba Exposed and Bageshwar BabaExposed.
In this
blog, we’ll just discuss only one of
Amogh Lila Prabhu’s claims due to my limited time (thanks to exams). Don’t
worry, though—future blogs will deal with his other statements.
Lets take a
look at his education:-
He studied
software engineering at the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE). He
graduated in 2004.(got info online not sure about it). Again I say as usual
education is different from rationality.
For now,
let’s focus on his assertion that the Big Bang is “completely illogical and
irrational.” I would like you to watch his this video first.
If you’ve
seen his video, you’ll understand why I say this: my friends always told me
Samay Raina was a great comedian, but after watching Amogh Lila Prabhu, I think
he’s giving Samay a run for his money. Comedy skills? 10/10. Scientific
reasoning? A big fat zero.
In his very
first line, he describes the Big Bang as an explosion. Mistake #1: The
Big Bang is not an explosion. It’s a misnomer.
Let us first
understand in brief what is Big Bang Theory actually.
So Big Bang
Theory is widely accepted explanation of the origin and evolution of
the universe. Big Bang Theory states that the universe began as a singularity,
an infinitely small dense and hot particle. At that time of The Big Bang space,
time, matter ,energy all came into an existence and again this was not an
explosion in space but rather it was expansion of space because before
Big Bang there was no space. Space and time were created due to big bang. You can
study more about Big Bang on Google or you can read some books about it.
Now let us
understand what is explosion,
An explosion
is a rapid release of energy that propels matter outward into pre existing
space and now I think you are cleared that why big bang is not an explosion
because first of all there was no space before big bang so it didn’t move into a pre existing space nor
did it eject matter like an explosion. Instead, space itself expanded.
And here
amogh Lila prabhu equated 2 different phenomena Big Bang and explosion without
a valid justification so here he commits false analogy fallacy. Amogh
Lila mocks scientists, asking, “Was your house created by an explosion?” I’m
sorry, but this analogy is as weak as the Wi-Fi in my school library.
The Big Bang
explains the expansion of the universe, not the creation of materialistic
objects like houses. By mischaracterizing the Big Bang as an explosion, he
builds a straw man fallacy . Bravo for creativity, but no points for
accuracy.
Further he
says that intelligence, ego, mind all these things cannot come from an explosion.
Oh, Amogh Lila ji, let me enlighten you. Big Bang does not attempt to explain
the emergence of complex phenomena like intelligence, ego and consciousness
directly. It explains the origin and evolution of universe from an extremely
hot and dense state to its current structure. Life and consciousness arise from
biological diversity, evolution, and neurological processes—not cosmology. By
confusing these categories, he commits a category error.
Cosmology
explains the origin of the universe. Neuroscience explains how the brain
developed and gave rise to intelligence and ego. Mixing the two? That’s like
trying to explain cricket using the rules of chess.
He argues
that the complexity of the human body—its systems like digestion, reproduction,
and circulation—cannot be explained by the Big Bang.
But who’s
claiming that? Seriously, who? The Big Bang describes the origin of the universe,
not the origin of life or biological systems.
He also
mentions involuntary processes like digestion and pancreatic juice release,
suggesting they require a supernatural explanation. Let me introduce you to the
medulla oblongata, a part of the brain responsible for controlling
involuntary actions. These processes are natural and explained by biological
mechanisms. No supernatural intervention required.
I repeat I
am not refuting that there is a creator or not. The blog is not about that. Purpose
of the blog aims at debunking his pseudoscientific claims.
The body’s ability to carry out invariant reactions like
digestion, heartbeat, and breathing they are a result of millions of years of evolutions,
nervous system and hormonal feedback loop.
Now he
further tries to mock science by saying
that the hair on his head grow but the hair on his eyebrow does not grow so
again I tell to you that Big Bang is not related to your biological growth. These
things are governed by genetics, hormones and evolution. The
growth pattern of hairs including the type and density is determined by our genes and hormones.
our eyebrow hair does grow, but
its growth is much slower and more regulated compared to the hair on our scalp.
This difference is due to the hair growth cycle
Next he says
that Doppler effect is a “Tuka”i.e. a random phenomenon. Wow. Just wow.I am amused to see how
bravely and fearlessly and without any mathematical or scientific reasoning he tries to debunk Doppler effect. For the
uninitiated, the Doppler Effect is a well-established phenomenon in physics. It
describes how the frequency of a wave changes depending on the relative motion
between the source and the observer.
When an
object moves toward you, the waves are compressed, resulting in a higher
frequency (blue shift in light). When it moves away, the waves are stretched,
resulting in a lower frequency (red shift in light).
.the Doppler
effect is a proven concept and is used in many fields from radar systems to
astronomy and I want to tell him that the expansion of the universe is a
totally different concept from Doppler effect. The universe is expanding not
because objects are moving through space but because the space itself is
stretching and it is known as cosmological
red shift. It is not similar to Doppler effect. Further he gives analogy
that if we are dispersing from the room, room is also expanding but we cannot
call it expansion and thus he tries to debunk Doppler effect and Big Bang but I
would like to tell him that Doppler effect applies to waves and not the
movement of people. your analogy is flawed and further this is also wrong that universe
expansion is working on Doppler effect. So here he misinterprets an argument
making it easier to attack and hence he is doing strong man fallacy
he literally compares Doppler effect to something really absurd like people
moving secondly again he does false analogy fallacy.
Evidences
supporting Big Bang:-
1) Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation
(CMB)
2) Hubble's Law and Redshift
And many others….
Finally,
it’s clear why he rejects the Big Bang: it doesn’t align with his ancient texts. His argument boils down to
an appeal to tradition. Just because ancient texts don’t mention
the universe expanding doesn’t mean modern theories are wrong.
Spiritual
texts and ancient Indian philosophy weren’t written to explain scientific
truths. Their purpose was to provide spiritual and philosophical guidance. The
scientific groundwork was laid by luminaries like Aryabhata and
Bhaskaracharya—not religious scriptures. Vedic philosophy is for your elevation
and not a science book.
